The change of firmware is possible on the meizu miniplayer distributed by Dane-Elec.
The change of firmware allows:
- To unsling volume (limited to 33 because of the European directives)
- To add radio operator FM (and the recording in mp3 of the radio)
Attention however this update is based on an official firmware of English meizu. The menus will be thus in English. There yet to date does not exist of French version of the firmware to use.
Attention, the change of firmware generates a loss of the warranty.
Very updated Avante: it is necessary to check N° of series
The SP after M6 specifies that you have a version SP of frimware (the other version is the TP, which should not REALLY be used)
Procedure:
- To light the reader
- To connect with the PC with the cord usb
- To copy the files of the firmware to the root of the reader.
- To disconnect properly the reader (stopping of peripheral USB) -
To extinguish the reader
- To relight the reader a text “upgrading system” appears. (attention it can be necessary of étiendre and to relight twice)

Warning bound for the do-it-yourselfers
As I had already indicated, there are two versions of the meizu.
A version SP and a version TP.
The version marketed by Dane Elec in this moment is version SP. I specify in this moment bus Dane Elec does not exclude to market version TP.
This detail with its importance bus if you wish to use your Meizu by Dane Elec with FM, you will have to install a firmware coming from Meizu.

In a preceding post, I criticized the Internet sites which announced dates of availability on the meizu miniplayer at the end of November 2006 then they deferred to semi December.
In a phone call to dane elec, I make my point:
it would seem that the meizu is victim of sound succés: it was delivered in many great surfaces but the out-of-stock condition is total.
next the reappro is scheduled for semi December.
conclusion: if you want a meizu for Christmas, better is worth to give a phone call to your store.
dane elec works much with crossroads, it is thus quasi certain that it available will be auprés of this sign.

In conclusionAprès to have spent several weeks in company of this small white walkman very sympathetic nerve, I learned how to demolish me (a little) of my iPod 5G black. Even if Miniplayer plays rather in the court of the iPod Nano, it has more than one turn in its bag and exceeds even this last on multiple points, would be this only on the video functions absent from Nano. Competition should take some lessons on ergonomics of this walkman and particularly on the level of its interface. Meizu Number One in China
Apple with its iPod has all the sorrows of the world to be essential in China. According to a recent study, Apple arrived in fifth position with a share of market of 4,29%. To believe the last survey of PCOnline of it, the iPod does not cause a real passion. The preferred mark of the Chinese Net surfers is Meizu which collects 13% of the votes. Behind, one finds iPod with 8,7%, then in fifth Sony position with 6,5% and Samsung with 2,66%. It should be noted that 21% of the people who took part in this survey have weak for the Walkmans without mark. For Apple, the part is far from being gained.
